Texas Music Festival
The Texas Music Festival is a four week summer program that takes place in Houston, Texas. The participants each receive a scholarship that fully covers their tuition. The festival itself is designed for collegiate and young professional performers (ages 18-30). The faculty is from the Moores and Shepherd schools of music, the Houston Symphony, Houston Grand Opera and Ballet orchestras, and other distinguished orchestras and music schools. Included are masterclasses with principals and members of the Houston Symphony and other major orchestras, weekly private lessons, and instruction in chamber music.
The application deadline is typically around mid-February, but it is strongly encouraged to apply well before this deadline. It is particularly important to note that there are limited percussion audition times.
