“Variation Voyage†Leon Fleisher, piano January 11-12, 2019 8:00 PM WHERE: Dell Hall directions CONDUCTOR: Peter Bay The Austin Symphony will start the 2019 season with evening of music from around the world. Call your symphony partner because this is one you will not want to miss. The ASO will take you on a symphonic voyage and you will hear pieces from composers Ives/Schuman, Dvořák, Franck, and Britten. The Benjamin Britten is better known as the Young People’s Guide to the Orchestra when performed for children. The highlight of the evening will be a performance from legendary pianist, Leon Fleisher, performing César Franck’s popular Symphonic Variations. Still want more? How about playing on some string instruments provided by our friends at Violin’s Etc.? We also have a wonderful pre-concert talk given by Bob Buckalew at 7:10 pm.
